Singer-songwriter Abigail Galwey has pondered a question that cuts to the core of her artistry: What defines her sound? Yes, it’s trip-hop, laced with punk, avant-garde pop, and electronic influences, but it’s so much more. It’s an experimental journey into the depths of self-discovery, tackling the age-old queries of identity and desire. Abigail confronts the lurking beasts within and outside of us—those shadows that prey on our vulnerabilities.

Feed The Beast - milk +

Feed the Beast - blue house on the top of the Hill (official video)
"[Feed The Beast' first EP] features a delightful mix of jazz, soul, and electronic music. It’s a debut EP that lays the foundation for the project and gives us a glimpse of bright days ahead for Feed the Beast. Still, the driving force of the group is Galwey's impressive voice, capable of bringing out beautiful soulful tones."
- Le Canal Auditif
Set to release in winter 2025, her second EP, down the hatch, draws inspiration from the books and films that have shaped her path. It’s a quest for peace in the darkness, illuminating the contours of each shadow. Collaborating with producer Emmanuel Alias—who has worked with artists like Anachnid and Beyries, and scored for shows like Big Little Lies— Feed the Beast breathes life into a metaphorical creature that is as unique as it is bold and raw.
" It's very clear, there is some Portishead in Abigail Galwey and it's very rare in Quebec's musical landscape."
- Annie Richer, Radio Canada

"By using Trip-hop as a melodic vehicle, down the hatch has no other choice but to dive head first into a delivering darkness. This four song EP reminds us of Kroy, a project also produced by Emmanuel Alias. Inspired in part by the literary works of Steinbeck (Of Mice and Men), Kubrick (Eyes Wide Shut), Burgess (A Clockwork Orange) and Murakami (The Wind-up Bird Chronicles), down the hatch offers both reflection and sensibility.
Inspiré par les arts connexes de Steinbeck (Of Mice and Men), Kubrick (Eyes Wide Shut), Burgess (A Clockwork Orange) et Murakami (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles) Down the Hatch offre à la fois réflexions et sensibilité."
- Frédérique Buissières, Parapet Musical
